North of Las Cruces NM is a comfortable campground, where this cactus exists. It is not the only sight from there, there are mountains, sky, and best of all Mesilla NM is just down the road for dinner and galleries.
Recording stunning images from unusual vantage points has become a technique I use in all art I create, from photos to paintings, to art quilts and more. Take the opportunity to find something which catches your eye, and see if there isn't an unusual way to see it. You will find it rewarding.
